LLYN Y FAN FELL RACE

Well that's the first time I've had to genuinely use a compass bearing in anger during a fell race! 

With no time to recce the off piste descent, I had to 'on sight' it, like a true purist

The thick clag meant that the compass was deployed, and although I didn't get the most effective line, I did manage to finish without any major blunders (which is more than can be said for many of the other runners! ) 9th Overall 

That's what I love about fell running! You can be the fittest athlete in the race, but if you aren't running in the right direction, it isn't worth a lot!

But seriously, when do the longer races start back up?
